BIO

Infernal Outcry is a technical and progressive extreme metal band based in Hobart, Tasmania. Punishing drums, maliciously methodical guitars, and deathly screams lure the listener into a diverse musical landscape of weighty, multi-textured, and brooding compositions. Drawing on such influences as Death, Dream Theater, Cynic, and Meshuggah, Infernal Outcry’s unique twist of contemporary progressive death metal is a fusion of complex rhythms and sinister melodies teeming with intensity.

Infernal Outcry’s debut, Mass Extinction Requiem I, produced by Joe Haley (Psycroptic), is due for release in March 2016, thanks to a grant from Tasmanian Regional Arts Fund. The band was also awarded a grant from Arts Tasmania to produce a music video with James Harmsworth of Harmless Pictures, who won best film clip at the Australian Metal Awards in 2009 as director of Psycroptic’s “Initiate” music video.

Since early 2012, Infernal Outcry has played many live shows in Tasmania, Victoria, and New South Wales. These performances have been very well received as a result of the band’s exciting and engaging live show. The biggest highlights to date include playing at Faux Mo (part of the MONA FOMA festival) in January 2014, at Falls Music & Arts Festival in December 2012, and supporting Thy Art Is Murder on the “Hate Across Tasmania” tour in March 2013. Infernal Outcry has also shared the stage with numerous other well known metal bands including Psycroptic, Mephistopheles, Black Majesty, Synthetic Breed, and Intense Hammer Rage.

Infernal Outcry began playing together in late 2010 and features Bachelor of Music graduates David Lawson (guitar), Daniel Hill (guitar), and Liana Eriksen (vocals). Infernal Outcry’s rhythm section consists of current Bachelor of Music student Paul Sharp (bass), who also plays bass in progressive metal band Create the Crayon, and the versatility of Luke Wright (drums), who previously played with metal band Sinnister Valley.

Regarding her lyrics, Liana says, “one of the main themes I am interested in exploring is the emotional conflict arising from the awareness of our mortality, particularly in relation to the unsustainable and artificial nature of our global civilisation and its negative impacts on the natural world. The lyrics are an expression of the darker emotions that are experienced by humanity and attempt to provide the listener and creator with a form of catharsis by aiming to develop a deeper understanding of the world around us.”

BIO:

Formed in the late 90s, Lycanthia are a 6 piece Gothic/Death Doom Metal band from Sydney, Australia.

The popularity of Lycanthia's live shows, along with their self-titled demo, established the band in the Australian Metal Underground. Their first full length album 'Myriad', saw them develop their musical style with greater maturity, creativity and originality.

Their next release, an EP titled 'Within The Walls', further cemented their place as pioneers of their genre. The song 'Lost' peaked at #11 on the 'triple j' Australian Metal Charts within the first week of release.

April 2012 marked the release of Lycanthia's full length album 'Oligarchy', in which they have sculpted their reactions to existence and the world into a musical expression of harsh, bleak reality. The album was quickly picked up by Green Media in Australia and is due to be re-released early 2013 through Hypnotic Dirge Records in digipak format.

The success of Lycanthia has continued to grow with regular radio airplay and live performances alongside local and international acts.
Their music can be described as dark, aggressive and emotional sound-scapes fused with classical and rock elements. Consisting of Grim Male and Dual Female Vocals, Violin, Keyboards, Guitars and Drums.

BIO :

Awaken Solace is an Australian, female fronted symphonic metal band that combines a theatrical mix of orchestral power metal, medieval baroque and fantasy-style soundtracks. Full orchestral and choral arrangements compliment the band’s five piece line-up of vocals, bass, guitar, drums and keyboards; a concept that places them among a unique few in the Australian metal scene.

Since releasing their debut album ‘In Nightfall’s Embrace’ on 1 June 2012 (a release mixed and mastered by Caio Duarte, Broadband Productions, Brazil), Awaken Solace has received an extensive amount of international attention on the femme metal scene with reviews circulating from as far as the United Kingdom, United States, Japan, Brazil, Czech Republic and the Netherlands to name a few. The album has also received regular air play on digital radio in the UK, local community radio 4zzz and also featured on Triple J’s heavy music program ‘The Racket’.

The band hit the live stage in February 2012. By August, Awaken Solace was announced as the Brisbane support act for one of Europe’s most successful metal acts ‘Apocalyptica’, on their first ever Australian tour.

December saw the release of Awaken Solace’s first music video ‘The Passing’, a steampunk inspired professional production lead by Director Jake Brown & Producer Julian Pennisi of Blackline Media and award winning Cinematographer Dr. Dominic Muench of Blacksun Productions.

2013 has begun positively for Awaken Solace with a nomination in the MS (Metal Symphonique) Awards in the category of ‘Best Newcomer of the Year’. Throughout the year the band plans to write and record the next album and to tour further afield. 'In Nightfall's Embrace' is only the beginning of things to come.

The time of awakening is now...

BIO :

The Story - Darkyra Black - Something special, something you have never heard before!
"Upon first listen you may liken it to industry greats such as Within Temptation or even Tarja (ex-Nightwish) but in doing so you wouldn’t even come close. Very few women in the industry are able to weave music in such as way as Darkyra and make music her own muse."
- EvilG, Metal Rules (Sep 15, 2013)
Scene 1 – Dragon Tears
It was through the company ‘Online Recording Masters’ based in Athens Greece that vocalist and songwriter, Darkyra found new counterparts for what was to become her very first self-titled record ‘Dragon Tears’.
Owner/musical arranger George Boussounis formed an introduction with drummer/producer Garry King (Jeff Beck, Joe Lynn Turner, Achillea) and ideas and the Darkyra concept started to evolve between the three.
After the bond had been set three additional close friends where bought in to join the ranks of the Darkyra Black team for the 2013 recordings, guitarist’s Paul Jupe, Betovani Dinelli, and keyboard player Fab Jablonski. The first Darkyra Black track prior to the full album release came out on an official video for the single ‘Tears by Candlelight’ in 2013 generating much interest in the full record. "Dragon Tears" a concept album based on a Gothic interpretation of a geisha like tale that ends in tragedy, love, loss, lust, betrayal and revenge, was released in February 2014, and built instant critical acclaim internationally as a fine blend of symphonic/gothic metal with powerful vocal performances and progressive/classic rock elements of traditional pentatonic music with an overall ‘Cinematic’ sound and feel.
“All eleven numbers here are different but are very fluent and offer up musical highlights galore, too numerous to mention, ensure you keep the CD in the player to the VERY end. To summarize, Darkyra is Dark, Passionate and Edgy and demonstrating fine vocal prowess”
Ravenheartmusic Review (6th February 2014)
Scene 2 – Of Fools and Gold
Now with the first record under her belt and amazing reviews it was time to set the scene and start the next stage of creating songs and music for a second follow up album and plan ahead for live shows and touring.
In January 2014 even before Dragon Tears was officially released Darkyra had already started work on 15 new track ideas ready for an April studio sessions deadline in the historic city of Athens. With George and Garry being based in Europe plans where laid for the three with guitarist Betovani and Keyboard player Fab Jablonski to start work recording drums, guitars, guide keys and main vocal parts for what should be the most amazing and powerful follow up record in the Darkyra story.
Again with a very strong story line, searing string sections and memorable melodies, vocal performances and songs the yet to be titled record will surely prove that Darkyra Black has set a standard very hard to beat and certainly hard to ignore both lyrically and musically.
Scene 3 – Yet to be written .......
