BIO :

Valfreya was created, back in February of 2009, by Crook, singer and main composer.
Having many compositions she wanted out there with a much more aggressive musical sound than typical folk metal.
Many members have joined the band over the years, to finally settle down with the current lineup, which now brings it's own musical ideas to Valfreya.

The tree of life,
source of eternal youth and strength,
nurturing nine worlds filled with immortal legends

A Deity feared and adored by all,
Freyja,
had to change the course of destiny.
Resolute, she went to Yggdrasil`s roots
so she could meet the three weavers of destinies, the norns.

Past, present and future reunited.

An agreement was struck.

Freyja chose from the dead;
the lost souls of wandering, restless warriors.
To get a chance at redemption, new life was granted to them.

SORROWSEED is a melodic extreme metal manifestation of twisted prophecies that once tormented the minds of Morte McAdaver and Thomas Cyranowski. Now the Extinction Prophecies are unleashed to wreak cacophonous havoc upon the ears of the masses.

After dissolving in early 2011 A.D., the Order of Sorrowseed returned at the beginning of 2012 A.D., with some old members returning, and some new souls
joining.

Lilith Astaroth: The human manifestation of the Reaping Willow, the goddess Lilith leads the Order with her nightmarish, phlegmy Screams of Torture.

Morte McAdaver: One of two creatures to survive the dissolution of the previous order, he shall provide many Murderous Axes to the faces of feeble human filth.

Asmodai: First of the new souls, his Thumping Lines shall cause the earth to quake and cities to crumble.

Prometheus B. Subrick: The final of new souls (or lack thereof in his case), this failed laboratory creation infects the children of the human species with Percussive Nightmares.

The Phantom Cyr: The second of two depraved beings to survive the Order's original demise, this disturbed conductor's Orchestral Depravities haunt mankind's collective conscience.

The Order has risen again, and will stop at nothing until this world is at its end.

Jessica Sierra – Vocals

Adam Savage – Guitars

Micah Maltais - Bass

Dave Kazukiewicz - Drums

Bio :

Rock n’ roll circa 2011 is becoming an increasingly predictable affair, so, whenever a band comes along refusing to fit the mold, it usually doesn't go unnoticed. Case in point, Boston’s Mongrel – vocalist Jessica Sierra, guitarist Adam Savage, and drummer Dave Kazukiewicz. Formed with the belief that "punk" was more than a fashion requirement, Mongrel was born in 2003 in Eastern Massachusetts, quickly leaving their mark on both the local and national music scene. They have been included in "5 Bands to Watch" (Hippo Press, March 2005) and "5 Bands to Discover" (Hippo Press, November 2005). Mongrel has also been featured in Revolver magazine’s “Raw Talent” section (Nov. 2005), and was cited in Metal Edge magazine as “the hardest working band in Boston” (Jan. 2006). Feburary 2008 found Mongrel in Metal Edge once again, as well as featured on their monthly sampler cd alongside Ozzy Osbourne and Cradle of Filth. In September 2008, Mongrel was the featured "Underground Buzz" artist on Loudside.com.
Mongrel has toured extensively throughout the US, repeatedly sharing stages with metal and punk luminaries as diverse as The Misfits, FEAR, Korn, GWAR, Fu Manchu, Dizzy Reed (Guns N' Roses), The Exploited, Prong, Otep, Wednesday 13, Michale Graves, Blitzkid, The Independents, Trashlight Vision, Piggy D’s Evacuation Plan, Mushroomhead, Hed(pe), American Headcharge, Mower, Psychostick, All That Remains, etc.; receiving airplay on major Rock outlets including WAAF, WBCN, WFNX, WGIR, WHEB, as well as Sirius/XM and Music Choice. Along the way, Mongrel has earned an impressive collection of endorsements and sponsorships including Marshall Amps, Peavey, Monster Cable, Seymour Duncan pickups, Dean Markley strings, Agile guitars, In Tune Guitar Picks, TRX Cymbals, Cabin Fever Whiskey, and Cocaine & Brawndo energy drinks.
Mongrel's first full length album "Fear, Lies, & Propaganda" was re-released by Screaming Ferret Wreckords/ Locomotive Records / Ryko Distribution on April 8th, 2008. The album featured such standout tracks as “Bound to Crash,” “Dyslexic Alchemist (Fucked it all away),” “No Gods, No Masters,” and especially “West Memphis Hell,” the latter of which focuses on the highly controversial West Memphis 3 case. Following up the critically acclaimed "Fear, Lies, & Propaganda" cd, Mongrel released a 5 song EP entitled "Revenge" in October 2009, with their new full length CD "This Means War" due out in early 2010. "Revenge" was recorded by Tim Koukos (Nuclear Assault, Meliah Rage) at SFW studios in Manchester, NH and was mixed by Jeff Wallace (Biohazard, Pro-Pain, End of an Era) at Entrolab Studio in Toms River, NJ and garnered great reviews from fans and critics alike as well as airplay on Sirius/XM and Music Choice.
After some evolutionary lineup changes in the first half of 2010, Mongrel hit the studio with their new singer (Jessica Sierra) and new drummer (Dave Kazukiewicz) and recorded the 6 song "The New Breed of Old School" ep with Jim Foster (POD, Nullset, Graveyard BBQ) at the helm. The EP featured 6 songs from the "Fear, Lies, and Propaganda" album as a way to reintroduce the band to the fans by letting the new lineup show its merits on songs the fans knew. Mongrel entered the studio again with Jim Foster at the beginning of October 2010 to begin recording their next full length album due out in early 2011.
Balancing old school punk intensity, and metal aggression, with hard rock hooks and riffs, Mongrel is a hungry, young rock band ready to take on the world. The recordings are only part of the equation though, as Mongrel live is an equally unforgettable experience. It's high energy, intense, fun, and interactive. Fans can expect a band that is always willing to hang out and chat. "We are all music fans too, and are always eager to talk to the bands that we love, so it is very important for us to interact with anyone who wants to at our shows or online.”

Julia Flansburg – Vocals

Steven Bittle – Guitar and Vocals

Glenn Flansburg – Bass

JC – Percussion, Orchestration, and Sequencing

BIO :

Since forming in October of 2006, Angelical Tears has stood as a unique musical voice in the Oklahoma music scene. The band's heavy but melodic sound is the result of a variety of musical influences such as Goth, Classical, Metal, and Electronica. These elements all combine to create a powerful metal sound with strong symphonic Goth elements.

The combination of the ethereal vocals of Julia Flansb
urg, heavy guitars of Steven Bittle, pounding bass of Glenn Flansburg, and thundering drums of JC give Angelical Tears a style and sound that sets them apart from their peers in the Oklahoma music scene.

The band's first show was in the "March Bandness" battle of the bands contest organized by 94.7FM "The Buzz". The band quickly proved itself by placing in the top four final bands. Fueled by this initial success, the band sought further opportunities to perform, refine their sound, and develop a fan base. Performances at regional/national venues like The Samurai, Reggies, and The Rave/Eagles Ballroom; at festivals such as Rock Jam, Dame-Nation, Rose State College's Festival of Modern Music, and The Oklahoma State Fair; appearances on KSBI-TV's "Oklahoma Live", Oklahoma University TV's "The Set", The Oklahoma Gazette's Annual Ghouls Gone Wild Halloween Parade, and The All-Stars Tour have helped propel Angelical Tears into the top tier of bands in Oklahoma. These successes have also allowed Angelical Tears to share the stage with numerous local/regional artists while opening for national acts such as Bang Tango and The Misfits, as well as serving as direct support for the internationally-reknown Japanese metal band, Loudness.

Angelical Tears released their debut, self-titled E.P. in August of 2010. Music from this CD has gained local/regional airplay on stations like KATT 100.5FM, Oklahoma City's most popular rock radio station. The EP has received glowing reviews both domestically and internationally by Femme Metal Webzine, Sonic Cathedral, as well as numerous others. The track "No More" was featured on Australian record label Blue Freya's compilation CD "Born of Sand and Snow" as well as in the soundtrack for the motion picture "Dark of Moon". The track "Save Me" will appear on the soundtrack of the upcoming horror movie "Waterfront Nightmare". The band has also consistently held the #1 rank locally on Reverbnation's metal chart as well as a current rank of 142 nationally, and 298 globally (June, 2012). The combination of their active fan base, reception of live performances, and EP success have also earned Angelical Tears such honors as being named Unleash the Furies' Band of the Month (Sept., 2011).

With their sights now set on national and international tours, the band has branched out beyond the Oklahoma area playing shows in Wisconsin, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Nevada, Tennessee, and Texas. In addition to actively touring, Angelical Tears has completed the recording of their debut LP, "The Eleventh Hour" which was released June 23rd of 2012.

Jarl Ivar Brynhildsvoll - Bass

Christopher Midtsvéen Vigre - Drums

BIO :

The very beginning of Ancestral Legacy can be traced as far back as the last days of 1995 when Eddie Risdal and Kjell-Ivar Aarli, two buddies who shared the interest in metal, got the idea to start a band. They had heard a lot of new and inspiring music over the years, and bands like Dissection, Ulver, In Flames & Unanimated where the main inspiration, and they named the band Permafrost. The first songs were written early 1996, but there was'n too much progression in the band until their friend Øyvind Rosseland joined the band as a synthist in late 1998, around the time the band changed the name to Ancestral Legacy. The sound changed naturally from guitar-driven to more synth-based songwriting, inspired by Dimmu Borgir, Covenant and Cradle of Filth. The first demo was cut in spring/summer 2000 when some decent recording equipment was obtained. Some of the older songs were included together with the fresh material. 2001 saw a participation on a Norwegian underground sample-CD with bands like 1349 and Lunaris. Early 2002 the second demo "Emptiness" was finished, with five new tracks and some re-recordings. Shortly after the release Rosseland left the band, and later the same year also Aarli left after being involved in a car accident, and the damages restrained his playing abilities.

Eddie Risdal was now the only remaining member of the band, and used the opportunity to change the musical style by using songs he had written parallel to Ancestral Legacy, and that actually were intended for a solo project. This was more or less the "easy way out" instead of trying to recruit a new synthist and keep the old style, as keyboard players dedicated to metal are hard to find in a small town like Arendal. The new songs were more influenced by his favourite bands at this time; Opeth, Lacuna Coil, Novembre, Katatonia, Rapture and The Gathering to name a few.

First member in the 'new' Ancestral Legacy was drummer Børre Iversen who played in a band next door to where the rehearsal room was. Soon after Børre's bandmate Tor Arvid Larsen joined the band as an extra guitarist, and Elin Anita Omholt, who played in the rock band Miasma Paradox with Risdal, joined as a vocalist. The free spot as a bassist was filled by Atle Johansen, aka Anton Dead, and this completed the new line-up early in 2003.

Just around these days the third demo, "Of magic illusions", was recorded. It consisted of one piano intro and seven songs in the new style, once again recorded and mixed on own equipment. Not long after the release, in April 2003 the band had it's first concert ever, and in December Ancestral Legacy played at the "Kjellerrock 03" festival in Kristiansand, Norway, where the band won the first prize in a contest among the almost 25 bands participating. The prize was free studio time at Lynor studios, where the promo "Goodbye Reality" was recorded in March 2004. Thanks to a guy that didn't do his work it lasted until September the same year before it got mastered.

In November 2004 the shooting of the band's first music video, for the track "Crash of silence" from the "Goodbye Reality"-promo, took place during three days on various locations in the region, among others in some old church ruins and an old house that is supposed to be haunted.

In February 2005 "by:Larm" included Ancestral Legacy in the line-up, and the band was favoured by no less than concerts in two nights in a row. "by:Larm" is concidered the largest festival/showcase arrangement in Norway, and this year it featured among others Theatre of Tragedy, Mortiis, Arcturus, Mayhem and Gehenna on the bill.

In 2007 the band started recordings for the first proper album, and since everything was done by the band there were no time limits, thus things wasn't finished until January 2008, when 14 songs were brought over to Mølla studios to be mixed and mastered by Knut Magne Valle. The results are an EP with the name "Trapped Within The Words", which contains 5 tracks of new and older songs, released in April. Vocalist Elin left the band the same Autumn and was replaced by Isadora Cortina. The album "Nightmare Diaries" was after a long delay released February 2010.

After a relatively quiet rest of 2010 and 2011, only interrupted by some occasional gigs, amon them in Germany, France and The Netherlands, the band started preparations for the follow up towards the end of 2011. Recording started early 2012 and will be finished in June. Release some time late Summer or early Autumn 2012 if everything works out as we hope. :)

“This is Angist. It’s dark, thrashy, black metal and it’s bloody brilliant. You will struggle not to headbang to their music” www.thrashhits.com

From Reykjavík, Iceland hails the deathmetal quartet Angist, formed in 2009 by Edda and Gyða with Halli, Edda’s brother later joining in as bassplayer and with few changes in drummers.
Angist released their two song demo in summer 2010 and a year later they had accomplished to play many high profile shows such as Iceland Airwaves, opening act for Heaven Shall Burn and L’esprit du Clan and get 2nd place in the Wacken Metal Battle (Icelandic log). Many interviews and reviews in magazines, newspapers, webzines and radio followed and the year 2011 ended with the release of Angist’s EP, Circle of Suffering, and a tour around France as an opening act for L’esprit du Clan.
In the year 2012 Angist will for example record their first full-length album, will head out for another tour in France and many other exciting things!

"Petrifyingly powerful, their relentless, atmosphere-steeped and blackened thrust should take its rightful place amongst DM’s kvlt elite". –Metal Hammer

"Arguably, talk of the scene is Angist, who stick out not only due to the savage female vocals but the fact they might be serving up the most evil sounding death metal going right now. It’s plenty cold too, giving them a special edge that will certainly make people stick around and anticipate future endeavors". -Reykjavik Grapevine

Sense of Creation is a Gothic Symphonic Metal band from London, founded by Lukasz Lowkis in 2009.
Composer and multi-instrumentalist Lowkis began his professional music training at the age of seven, first mastering piano, and then clarinet, guitar, bass and drums. BIO :

The idea of Whispering Woods came to life during 2008, when Doru Căilean (guitar) and former bass player Norbert Gero decided to start a musical project which would have as a main character the symphonic genre. Even though it was a common genre at the time and many bands had both commercial and stage success, the idea was kept alive by the thought of making a kind of musical spectacle, on a conceptual idea. Thus, the songs which developed in time to form the debut album, Fairy Woods, are sustained by a concept story in which the listener is the main character who takes part in an imaginary journey through a mystical place where everything is possible.

The band went through many lineup changes, but from the start the idea of a musical concept was the main element which drove the things forward. Fortunately, the summer 2010 brought the long desired stability within the band when Cătălina Popa (flute) agreed to join the group. Even though the flute wasn't part of the initial plans, it turned out to be a great addition and a big plus from the musical point of view. Cora (keyboards) and Alexandra (soprano) made contact through Cătălina and so the band was in a complete formation. The same year brought the 3rd demo attempt (the previous ones were made with the old lineups) which included 4 songs. Finally, in the end of June 2011, almost a year after the lineup was defined, the band started the recording process of its full length debut album.

The raw material was created in studios from Cluj-Napoca and it was mixed and mastered by Frank Renner.

Fairy Woods, their debut album, was released on September the 30th 2011.

BIO :

“I think we took a ‘more is more’ approach to this record.”

So says ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott when referring the band’s new platter of mayhem, Khaos Legions. Not that they’ve ever tackled any aspects of their career with a half-baked attitude, but the approach was particularly important after four years of creative silence.

The band has been far from quiet since the 2007 release of Rise... Of The Tyrant, of course. During the extensive tour cycle for the album, ARCH ENEMY saw fit to preserve their trademark sonic violence on the live 2008 record, Tyrants Of The Rising Sun, returning to the studio a year later to re-record some of their early work and live fan favourites for The Root Of All Evil. Amott will be the first to tell you, however, that he and his bandmates have been waiting a long time to create something brand new from the ground up.

“Root Of All Evil was cool to do,” Amott insists, “but it wasn’t really creative at all. None of that material was new to us. We were itching to get into the studio and record all the things we’ve been talking about backstage for the last few years. We knew we had to come back with something really good because it’s been four years since the Rise Of The Tyrant album. We’ve kept the fans waiting long enough.”

Khaos Legions was well worth the wait. A solid 14 tracks – 11 songs and three instrumental passages – it’s an album that immediately recalls Anthems Of Rebellion (2003) and Doomsday Machine (2005), considered up to this point to be ARCH ENEMY’s two strongest outings to date. Loaded with the Amott brothers’ trademark guitar shred, spearheaded by vocalist Angela Gossow’s instantly recognizable hell-hath-no-fury delivery, all backed by the Sharlee D’Angelo / Daniel Erlandsson bass / drum high energy stomp, Khaos Legions features the band’s trademark extreme metal execution coupled with some eyebrow-raising surprises along the way.

Eight studio albums and 15 years into their career, Khaos Legions is ARCH ENEMY’s iron “You are here!” stamp that hits like a ton of bricks.

“This album is kind of nuts,” says Amott. “It’s a very exciting record for me because it encapsulates everything that Arch Enemy is about. It was written over a four year period, so I think that’s why it’s got a lot of depth and girth to it”

Simply put, no diehard ARCH ENEMY fan should go away dissatisfied. The tracks ‘Yesterday Is Dead And Gone’, ‘Under Black Flags We March’, ‘Thorns In My Flesh’ and ‘City Of The Dead’ are examples of the five piece wrecking crew people have come to expect. On the other side of the coin, ‘Bloodstained Cross’ features Michael and Chris Amott exploring new shred-head territory, while ‘Cruelty Without Beauty’, ‘Cult Of Chaos’ and the scathing ‘Vengeance Is Mine’ feature some of the most aggressive work from the band to date.

In addition, ‘Through The Eyes Of A Raven’ is easily the band’s most adventurous song in years; progressive and dark, what Amott feels “has a Scandinavian feel to it, with a melancholic Nordic thing going on in the chorus.” Certainly a different side of the band, yet they retain every ounce of trademark aggression.

The biggest surprise of all, however, is the bordering-on-death-rock ‘No Gods, No Masters’, a definite echo of ARCH ENEMY’s anthem ‘We Will Rise’ that is guaranteed to raise the ire of some fans even as it is embraced by others.

Gossow sums Khaos Legions up in one sentence, unapologetic as always: “We went all over the place with this album. Take it or leave it.”
